The Dimmitt Bobcats is a football club in the Southeastern Conference. The team plays in Tampa Bay, Florida. They play the game on Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday and are affiliated with the North Coast Conference. The team was previously known as the Buccaneers. The latest name was changed due to trademark issues with the NFL.
The Dimmitt Bobcats is one of three teams in the PFL that have never won a game. However, they have been playing football for over ten years. The other two franchises are the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers. Since this is the first team to be established within the PFL, the Bobcats are considered a “first year” team.
Coach Gene Massey has done an excellent job of developing a young talent base that will produce a winning team in the near future. This includes all of the talented offensive players. Quarterback Kenrosney has been a revelation since he was acquired from the Chargers. He has thrown for 3,912 yards and 21 scores.
Running back CJahl is one of the best dual threat backs in the country. He is capable of catching the ball out of the back field as well as running behind the line of the tackle. Right tackle Chance Warmack has been the anchor on the left side for many years and has developed into one of the top tackles in the league. He is an extremely instinctive player and an excellent fit for the Bobcat’s scheme.
Quarterback Quinton Pointer has emerged as one of the premier throwers in the country. He is completing over 70% of his passes and has thrown for over 8k yards each of the last two weeks. Pointer will likely have one of the better receiving seasons in school history if he stays healthy this year. He is also an excellent runner. Sophomore Damon Harrison has been great as the primary backup to AJ Johnson, and junior college transfer Alex Roberts has given him some time to gel with the offense.
Florida Gulf Coast has always been known for their up-tempo offense, but they have also been known to play solid defense as well. The Bobcats are going to need all of the defensive talent they can get to limit opponents quick score opportunities. junior college transfer Demario Smith has impressed coaches with his ability to move inside and block on the outside. Sophomore Deommodious Custis is an athletic and bruising defensive tackle that will be counted on to give much needed help to a porous defensive line. If the Bobcats can put all of this defensive talent to good use, there is no reason they cannot become a perennial powerhouse in the Sun Belt Conference.
